Spotlyte: Addison

Meet Addison Ellison: a multi-talented influencer using her platform to make a difference in the world.

Addison Ellison has always been unique. From pretending her home was a Broadway stage and dressing up in fun, sparkly outfits daily to having 396.4k followers on the popular social media app TikTok, Addison has always gravitated toward the spotlight.

Originally an Amarillo, Texas native, Addison moved away from her hometown to run track at Wayland Baptist University. However, after enrolling in a film class, Addison decided that her passions were far beyond the track. And so, she decided to move to the University of Houston to pursue a career in the entertainment industry.

As a mathematics and chemistry major, Addison hopes to use her academic talents to assist in the economic and business side of the film industry.

And as a biracial woman and influencer, Addison hopes to bring more diversity into the entertainment industry by being a positive role model for young girls everywhere, especially within the biracial communities.

Like her inspirations Liza Koshy and Gabrielle Union, Addison wants people to recognize her for her talent and work ethic along with being a POC. And with a budding social media platform underway, she's already spreading positivity and influencing others to do the same.

"I want to be a role model for every little girl and especially the biracial community," Addison said. "My goal is to create positive, uplifting content that people can relate to or just to put a smile on their face!"

And while Addison uses her platform to share smiles, she also uses it to spread light on a more detrimental topic in the United States: human trafficking.

According to In Our Backyard, an organization advocating against human trafficking, instances of human trafficking occur in every zip code in the United States 365 days a year. With human trafficking being a notoriously underreported and taboo crime, Allison wants to do everything she can to involve herself in the conversation.

After having two major, traumatizing experiences with human trafficking, Addison began contributing to Thorn and Polaris Project and actively advocating against this issue. In the fall, she also plans to include others on her college campus in fighting against human trafficking.

"I want to keep the conversation alive and contribute for the fight as much as I can."

With a strong work ethic, drive, and passion for advocacy, Addison is a force to be reckoned with. Her intelligence and awareness prove she's more than just a pretty face within the influencer community, but instead a role model for all of those who want to fight against injustice.

And she's only getting started. From manifesting stardom in her childhood home to amassing thousands of social media followers, the Spotlyte seems to follow Addison anywhere she goes. Look out, world!
